Its interesting to me that Adobe is able to monetize PDF creation, when there are good free alternatives. Acrobat itself is too expensive ($300). I now see they are offering other price points for an online service for PDF creation:
- Free 5 trial (5 documents)
- $10/month
- $100/yearQuoted: Create Adobe PDF Online is the easy way to create professional-looking PDF documents. Offered by Adobe Systems, the inventors of the PDF file format.

AIR, which prior to the Beta was referred to by its code name, Apollo, is a new cross-platform desktop application runtime being developed by Adobe. While Adobe AIR allows both Flash- and HTML-based application development, this book focuses on building AIR applications using HTML and JavaScript.

WebEx works well for Windows clients - but does not support Linux - and I've heard problems from Mac users. WebEx is about $50/month for a single user.

This just happened to me - Photoshop would hang on booting. Right after displaying "Reading Text Global Resources...Done", photoshop just freezes. If you click away from the window and back, the dialog gets erased to be all white. No CPU is being used and nothing will get it to load.
The solution: start Photoshop and hold down SHIFT-CTRL-ALT. You will then be asked if you want to delete your preferences file. Say yes. Boots fine now!
What a terrible BUG on Adobe's part (I'm using 8.0 - Photoshop CS).
