JS-Kit is probably the closest thing to what I've been working on for PageForest. I'm impressed by the 1/2 million sites figure (though many of these are probably very low volume blogs).
Quoted: JS-Kit will leverage its newly acquired users to launch important new features. One of which is the implementation of an open standards-based, portable, user profile.

Interesting post about developing a facebook app.
Quoted: It did drive home the point that we’ve all felt that there’s something problematic about the complete ownership of personal data by Facebook. That control, combined with a hair-trigger banning without warning and a probably overwhelmed appeals process, is scary.

Ning's developer documentation. This pre-dates the March release. This is the PHP based technical specs, all new apps would have to use before they produced the more user-friendly site designers.
I believe all of this older "classic" documentation still applies - and has not yet been superseded by the new documentation site.

One explanation of the Facebook exec departures.
2 FaversViewed: 6 TimesQuoted: Here's one certainty in the hubbub that has resulted in the wake of the departure of high-profile exec Ben Ling from Facebook last week: COO Sheryl Sandberg is definitely not responsible for the melting of the polar ice caps. That's the joking question--Was global warming Sandberg's fault too?--that was asked at a staff meeting at the social networking start-up last Friday afternoon, after the news of Ling's departure, on the heels of some other previous employee exits, suddenly morphed into a series of increasingly vituperative posts on the Valleywag tech gossip site that all centered on what blogger Owen Thomas called Sandberg's "reign of terror" at Facebook. The truth of the situation, though, is actually a lot more interesting.
