Narita Airport (NRT) | Train Service

We had a little excitement on our train trip to Narita airport yesterday. I've not seen details in the news, but we heard at the time that there was an injury accident or suicide which blocked the line leading to our Tokyo station.

So, rather than take the JR Narita Express from Shinagawa, we had to transfer to the Nippori station on the Yamanote line, and then take the Keisei Railways train to Narita.

It was a little nerve wracking - but thankfully we had our guide, Miwako with us, who was able to quickly get us from one station to the next. We made it to our gate about 1/2 hour before we boarded the plane for Los Angeles!

We heard other people on our plane also say they had to do the same thing to make the flight - so it was a big mess.

    JR Yamanote Line

The JR Yamanote Line train makes a great circle around Tokyo. This site has all the station names and what's located at each one.

The Mansions at Azabu Towers Tokyo Reviews

This is where we stayed in Japan in 2004 - great little apartment in Tokyo.

The luxurious facilities are located in the middle of in Tokyo*s International Town Azabu, however offer quiet relaxation and solitude in the concrete megacity Tokyo. The Mansions at Azabu offering is just steps away from the hustle and bustle of entertainment districts of Roppongi and Azabu, minutes away from the government and business districts of Kasumigaseki and Akasaka, and the shopping areas of Shinjuku, Ginza, and Akihabara are a taxi or train away.

    UT OpenCourseWare | OCW Home

Found the english page describing Tokyo University's Open CourseWare site - they share a common search across this site and MIT's OCW site.

Quoted: The Meta-Information Mining Acceleration (MIMA Search) search engine is designed to search the syllabuses of courses posted on The University of Tokyo's Open Course Ware (UT OCW) site and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Open Course Ware site ( MIT OCW).

This is interesting. University of Tokyo has an Open CourseWare site - just like MIT's initiative (at least it has the same name)? I wonder if this modeled after MIT's effort (I can't read Japanese).
