mike | Shared With: Everyone - Apr 25 2009 | widget, faves, javascriptThis is a nice example of a widget builder - we pass parameters in javascript variables. The actual <script src=> tag includes a (static) javascript file (which can be deliverd by a CDN).
We can modify the DOM after the script loads - but we don't do the call to Faves to get the data until page load (so we don't hold up the parsing of the DOM of the parent page).
This could be adapted to insert an iframe for independently styled content - out widget injects HTML directly in page so it can be styled by your page as well (not the No Style format we allow you to select).
Quoted: You can add a display of your latest Faves to your blog or website. Just customize the settings below until the preview on the right side of this page looks good then copy the code onto your site.

I applaud Google's open policy - but look at the substantial areas of secrecy they still maintain:
- The % of revenue they share with content providers on their AdSense network.
- What advertisers are driving the most revenue through advertising on my site?
- Changes to the search ranking algorithm are mysterious to content providers.
- Reasons for content creators's sites getting blocked by Google.

1 FaverViewed: 7 TimesQuoted: Luke Chapman's vignette is hilarious, but it wouldn't have been featured without the bubbling acid effects, which I've only seen in one other place. I wonder what R2's thinking.
