The G1 (HTC Dream) comes with a 1150 mAh battery while the G2 myTouch (HTC Magic) upped the battery capacity to 1350 mAh.
For comparison, a standard AA battery has about 1100 mAh of energy (alkaline has 2700!)
Quoted: Not only does the T-Mobile G2/HTC Magic/Google Ion phone improve on original T-Mobile G1 in just about every way, it manages to do it while cutting down significantly on the size. The only thing it doesn't have going for it is a hardware keyboard.

The EDGE (for "Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution") upgrade on its network allows users to transfer data with average speeds of between 100 kilobits per second and 130 kbps, up to twice as fast as rival Sprint PCS on its "so-called 3G" service and three times faster than wired dial-up, AT&T Wireless executives said in a news conference at Comdex in Las Vegas.
Quoted: T-Mobile has enhanced its GPRS data network with EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution), improving the overall user experience when accessing data and rich content. EDGE delivers throughput speeds on the network for end users with EDGE-enabled devices up to 4 times the current rate. The service will address more than 90% of the current T-Mobile data traffic representing over 75% of T-Mobile’s network footprint.

I wanted so much to LOVE this phone. But, alas, we are getting DIVORCED! I hate the MDA with a passion. I just put it back in the box. T-Mobile was totally unsympathetic to my plight and refused to take it back. So I downgraded my service and moved my SIM card to a RAZOR V3 that I had in the house.
I will NEVER AGAIN buy a phone with out hard-keys for number keys. ActiveSync wouldn't work for me, I never got Exchange working, the screen stylus alignment was constantly getting out of whack.
If anyone wants it - let me know. Otherwise I'll probably just dump on eBay.

I agree that the look of the interface is sort of a letdown.
1 FaverViewed: 17 TimesQuoted: It feels smooth and fast, although the interface looks a bit dated and mixed. It kind of reminds me to a 1990s Windows desktop manager, specially next to the glossy, ultra-polished iPhone interface. However, there are certain aspects of it which are droolworthy, like the accelerometer-based Google Maps Streetview.
