Dr. Pausch's speech was more than just an academic exercise. The 46-year-old father of three has pancreatic cancer and expects to live for just a few months. His lecture, using images on a giant screen, turned out to be a rollicking and riveting journey through the lessons of his life.

I just got an email from campus. Berkeley has taped and put onto YouTube a significant amount of recent university lectures (I think they have over 200 online). Per the email I received, Cal is the first university to do this.
Plus, with USC's recent loss to Stanford, the Golden Bears have moved up in the rankings to #2 in the Coaches Poll. Nice.

The DOE Data Explorer (DDE) locates scientific research data - such as computer simulations, numeric data files, figures and plots, interactive maps, multimedia, and scientific images - generated by DOE-sponsored research in various science disciplines. The DOE Data Explorer includes a database of citations prepared by the Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI). It is intended for students, the public, and to researchers who are looking for experimental or observational data outside their normal field of expertise.
