It is also about age and mobility. Older, less mobile people are less likely to spend the two hours in a caucus.
Quoted: The caucus system also works to Obama's advantage.
...
"It takes significantly more enthusiasm to go in a caucus for two hours, and his backers seem to be more enthusiastic," said Barreto.

What can't politicians say things so succinctly? If Obama could just hammer home these five points consistently (to back up his abstract change message), I think more people would connect with him.
Quoted: You can't do anything if you try to do everything. But if you focus on a few big things, you can change a lot.

I agree. The speeches last night were solid. Let's hope that Barack himself delivers tonight.
Quoted: Last nights democratic convention was exciting and smart. I thought Bill Clinton redeemed himself for some of his foibles during his wife's campaign. His speech framed up the election and the case obama needs to make to the public. Beau Biden speech was emotionally moving to the point that I teared up at the same time Michelle Obama did (how much was that tear worth?).

Quoted: Democrat Barack Obama has opened an 8-point national lead on Republican John McCain as the U.S. presidential rivals turn their focus to a general election race, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.
...
The poll also found Obama expanded his lead over Clinton in the Democratic race to 26 percentage points, doubling his advantage from mid-April as Democrats begin to coalesce around Obama and prepare for the general election battle with McCain.

Quoted: RHETORIC: “[Obama] was cautious — even on the Iraq war, which he had opposed as a Senate candidate, he voted against the withdrawal of troops. He proposed a drawdown only after he was running for president and polls showed voters favoring it.” [New York Times, 3/9/08]

I don't know why this point hasn't been discussed at all. Even thought Hillary won, Obama and Clinton ended up with the same number of delegates.
Quoted: Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama each won nine delegates in New Hampshire's Democratic primary

very interesting date here
Just came back from the Democratic Caucus in the tony Points Communities (Medina, Yarrow Point, Hunts Point). It was pretty clear that there was:
a) A massive turnout (Ross Hunter said about 4x what was expected - they ran out of registration forms and had to get some quick copies made).
b) 3:1 seemed to be for Obama. Even among the older establishment crowd, Obama is creating a lot of excitement.
The Town of Hunts Point Democrats were 20 to 3 for Obama (so all 3 of our County-level Delegates will go to Obama).
We also saw Slade Gorton on his way to the Republican caucus at the HP town hall.
Raw votes were 43-13-1 in favor of Obama in my district, so our 4 delegates went 3:1. Statewide, looks like 2:1 if the current results (48% in right now) hold. I never expected such a blowout, pretty amazing.
ok Mohit, the tags set up for the Clinton topic don't make sense. Why isn't Hillary Clinton or just Clinton one of the tags that feeds this topic? I post about Hillary every day and nothing that I've posted shows here...
Sudha, what page are you looking at? Could you reply with the URL?

There's also:
http://faves.com/tag/Clinton
which should be ALL faves tagged with "Clinton" (and it's synonyms). The Buzz page just has those that have become relatively popular.
Sudha, we also had a bug starting yesterday where some content was not getting promoted to the Buzz page. Mohit was working on that today.
Sudha, you should see your content there now.
