Vivace opened on schedule yesterday. It sounds like they did a good job of recreating the original atmosphere. But, I will miss the view of Cal Andersen Park which has presumably been replaced with views of condos.
Quoted: Hey, it's opening day for Vivace in its new digs at Brix, down at the north end of Broadway. We're sipping on a brand-new americano right now.

Yay, Vivace is reopening.
Quoted: (Via Metblogs) Vivace will finally be opening its doors at their new Capitol Hill location this Friday, 26th. The new store is located on the ground floor of the Brix condo fortress at the north end of Broadway.

Thankfully, Dilettante and Vivace will live on in Capitol Hill. They are both relocating to the first floor of Brix.
Quoted: Turns out that he's still planning on moving up to Broadway to take over the old Dilettante's spot (who in turn are relocating to the first floor of Brix, along with Vivace), but now the development of the original B&O location is on hold, and he's renting month-to-month. The opera posters are still hanging. The lemon chiffon cake is still flowing (so to speak). If the real estate downturn stays turned down, we may not lose a B&O, so much as gain one.

Yet another new coffeshop in Seattle. Coffee is great. Atmosphere is pretty nice...but something about the fact that it's in a modern silver building doesn't feel quite right.
Quoted: The latest Espresso Vivace has been open just a few weeks, and steady lines are already part of the morning buzz in the Cascade neighborhood. It's a good sign for the coffeehouse, but also for the ever-evolving South Lake Union area, said Espresso Vivace owner David Schomer, as customers admired floor-tile mosaics with the same rosette patterns as their cups of macchiato.
