Good to know
Quoted: Did you know there are more than 15 types of saturated fat? And despite the fact that they've been damned as a whole by nutrition experts for decades, some of them are actually heart healthy. That's good news, since high-fat foods are often the tastiest.

Brown rice has the same amount of carbs as white rice. But, the extra fiber in brown rice slows down the absorption of the carbs.
Quoted: Since brown rice still has the bran intact, it is a much better source of fiber. In fact a cup of brown rice has 3.5 grams of fiber while white rice has less than one gram of fiber.

Another benefit from eating brown rice is caused by the fiber slowing down the absorption of carbohydrates. This will help tame the blood-sugar roller coaster that can happen from a high sugar-low fiber meal.ShareViewed: 8 Times

Just trying to find some new lunch places near our office. Reviews are mixed for this place -- but that might be because they apparently try to make their food healthy.
Quoted: Just got back from here, and I thought it was pretty good. The teriyaki chicken bowl had tasty tender pieces of chicken and very good steamed vegetables. They give you a lot of chicken, which is good because I got full and didn't finish the rice (bad carbs!).

Refaving this place. They have plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the Burke-Gilman trail and the canal. On top of that, they offer free wi-fi, serve lunch, and have power outlets outside.
Quoted: Two doors down from my favorite language escuela, Seattle Language Academy (just off the Burke-Gilman in Fremont), is the brand new Canal Street Coffee.

This is one of those food by the pound places. It is hit or miss -- some of the things are quite tasty and healthy, others less so. Price is pretty reasonable at $5.49/lb.
Note: This is actually on 3rd & Madison.
