Interesting...
Quoted: I took my first commercial airline flight in the 1960's, while still in high school. I've logged millions of miles since (according to my frequent flyer statements), and have really been struck by the dramatic changes in flying over the past 40 years or so. Here, before I forget them, are some of my more vivid memories of my earliest airline experiences.

Just read about Kingfisher Airlines. Kingfisher is (the leading?) beer company in India, so I suppose it makes sense they operator an airline, too.
Anyways, according to the Economist, the differentiator with Kingfisher Airlines is an "all-female crew wearing distinctive tight-fitting red skirts".

What were they thinking?
Quoted: It seems to me that this experiment should not only subject Jet Blue to substantial fines, but it should issue an apology (and flying freebies) to all of the passengers it tested or get slapped with a public action lawsuit.

It makes sense that a discount airline specializing in commuter flights would bring this up. If I now have to checkin my luggage when I didn't before, that might just be enough annoyance/overhead for me to drive instead.
Quoted: Michael O'Leary, the outspoken chief executive of Ryanair, described the new restrictions as "farcical Keystone Cops security measures that don't add anything except to block up airports", as he issued the ultimatum.

One more incident...
Quoted: An Alaska Airlines flight had to return to Portland International Airport on Tuesday after the cabin's oxygen masks dropped 15 minutes into a flight to Denver.
Quoted: Alaska Airlines has had three similar problems in the last two months.

Hmm...this + the recent hole in an Alaska plane do NOT inspire confidence in Alaska Airlines.
Quoted: But the KING 5 Investigators have obtained photos of the inside of some of their planes that the company would never want you to see: image after image of graffiti buried in the bellies of a number of planes where luggage, cargo and animals are loaded.
