Just saw Michelle Obama speak.
While I am undecided on who to support, I was impressed with Michelle Obama. She's energetic and able to balance her career, community service, her family, and Barack's campaign extremely well. For example, she talked about keeping her out of town trips to "same day" -- so she can be with her kids in the evening.
Also, she definitely made me think differently about Barack's "lack of experience". Points: a) Experience in Washington is not necessarily a good thing. It can make you take things for granted and abuse power -- look at current administration. b) You should consider Barack's "outside of Washington" experience as well before declaring him inexperienced.

Some great stuff in here.

Some of the questions inherently require subjective analysis; in these cases I have tried to show a sample of responsible opinions. I need to disclose up front that I am an Obama supporter; I came to that conclusion after reading the information outlined here; I didn't outline the information because of my support. I hope you fin

Why "executive experience" is purportedly important for president and how Palin stacks up.
Quoted: In government, like in business, executive leadership requires VISION as well as competency.
...
And this is where the difference between her and Obama is so stark. Obama may not have run any governmental organization. But he HAS offered a comprehensive vision and agenda for the country. He has also created and managed one of the most professional and efficient political campaigns in recent history; he had no existing state bureaucracy to fall back on if things went sour. Agree or disagree with him, Barack Obama has spent a long time developing and advocating a larger vision for the country. Sarah Palin has not.

Hub Dub has it at 70% Obama, 30% McCain and that also has not moved much in the past three months.

So why is it that the polls are tight and tightening and the markets are not? And are markets better predictors of news than polls? I suspect the answer to that is yes.ShareViewed: 5 Times

What can't politicians say things so succinctly? If Obama could just hammer home these five points consistently (to back up his abstract change message), I think more people would connect with him.
Quoted: You can't do anything if you try to do everything. But if you focus on a few big things, you can change a lot.

I agree. The speeches last night were solid. Let's hope that Barack himself delivers tonight.
Quoted: Last nights democratic convention was exciting and smart. I thought Bill Clinton redeemed himself for some of his foibles during his wife's campaign. His speech framed up the election and the case obama needs to make to the public. Beau Biden speech was emotionally moving to the point that I teared up at the same time Michelle Obama did (how much was that tear worth?).

I added Barack Obama to my Twitter follow list about 2 months ago, and it has been informative. He (i.e. his operative) posts no more than once a day -- succinctly stating where he his and what he's talking about.
Quoted: While Rose likes to tell everyone what he’s drinking (nice unicorn background image, Kevin), Obama invites his followers to sign up so they can be the first to find out who his VP pick is going to be. How about Rose? He knows how to get the vote out and seems ready for a new gig.

You must be Mohit's friend before you can comment on this Fave.interesting... but Barak doesn't even have that much outside experience (not in comparison to many). also something to consider (and, I'm not necessarily saying this is the way to analyze this, but it's something I think about) but remember that when Bush first ran for office, he ran on the same notion of being from "outside DC" is the way to bring people together...and now we have the most partisan president in history.
i was really impressed by michelle obama too. i'm also still undecided, but hearing what she had to say definitely appeased some of my doubts. also, i think the fact that barack was able to attract so much of both the minority and republican votes in his senate race shows that he won't be as partisan/divisive as bush. i actually spoke to a couple republicans who really like obama!
