The back of the iPod says, "Designed by Apple in California". The back of the Zune says, "Hello from Seattle".
Quoted: Um... excuse me? Hello from Seattle? That has, I'm afraid, none of the same resonance. It evokes nothing. Boeing and rain, maybe. Kurt Cobain's unhappiness.
...
But really it's just a desperate desire to be like Apple, without even a smidgen of understanding of the culture code that makes Designed by Apple in California work.

Apple is down 50% in the last two months! I suppose Apple products (more so than Microsoft's or Google's) are considered discretionary spending. Apple's P/E is still considerably higher than that of Microsoft's.

Well said...
Quoted: The process of making new things simple to win a market is a story that Apple understands extremely well, given their overwhelming focus on the user experience. There’s nothing really very simple or very “less is more”, about the iPhone, for example. Yet it gloriously made a bunch of clunky stuff simple and a lot of hard stuff possible.

For all you Mac cult members...
Quoted: Furthermore, beyond the OS itself, I hate the cult of personality that surrounds Steve Jobs. I like the soon-to-be-retired Bill Gates way more than Steve Jobs, because the guy cares about more than just making enough money to build a castle for himself out of stacks of $100 bills (not that Bill can't do that).

Lenovo's competitor to the Mac Air.

Quoted: You might say that Steve Jobs is the Marc Jacobs of computers (minus the heroin), betting the house his products will be, season after season, cooler than anyone else’s. Yet fashion is, by definition, fickle. Lose the buzz, and you’ve got trouble.

This is arguably what Apple deserves for using the Blue Screen of Death as the image for Windows machines in Leopard.
Quoted: A thread in Apple's official support forum titled Installation appears stuck on a plain blue screen had more than 300 posts when this article was last updated. A large percentage of the writers report getting a persistent blue screen after installing Leopard and then rebooting for the first time. These early-adopters have no option but to forcibly shut the machine down.

Apple is kool.
Quoted: Apple has succeeded in doing something that no one else in tech or even cars has done. They've crossed the gender barrier and made people of both genders passionate about what they sell.

If this works, this will make testing on older versions of Safari much easier.
Quoted: This means that if you preserve an old version of Safari to run it on a newer version of Mac OS, it will use the newer Web Kit found in the system and you will get the same results as with the newer version. Thus, you would normally need a separate installation of Mac OS X for each version of Safari you want to test a website into.

Wish the file format was mp3. That will prevent initial adoption by some people -- including myself.
Quoted: Lastly, we'd like to point out that, coincidentally, very, very few devices actually stand to benefit from Apple selling DRM-free AAC tracks. The iPod plays MP3s, but popular devices devices by all the big companies -- iRiver, Creative, Archos, most SanDisk devices, etc. (we forgetting any?) -- do not support AAC.
