I thought insipiration came in the shower.
Quoted: Entrepreneurial inspiration sometimes hits in strange ways and at strange times. For Karim Varela, it occurred while he was sitting in a San Francisco area jail on a DUI charge. From that painful episode, Varela came up with the idea for i-Booze, an online delivery service that transports beer, wine, cigarettes and other sinful necessities to shoppers in 60 minutes or less.

Drank this for the first time tonight and really enjoyed it. It has a soothing aftertaste that sits with you for a good 30 minutes after drinking it.
Quoted: It represents a style of whisky that is somewhere between single malts and blends. Pure Malt is a marriage of different single malts, but doesn't include any grain whiskies as a blended Scotch would.

Saw this in the inflight magazine.
Quoted: Laphroaig Cask Strength has just been named "The Best Scotch Whisky in the World for 2005." Rated 8 3/4 by Gavin Smith of Whisky Magazine: "Nose: Fresh, mild antiseptic, subtle peat smoke; Palate: Complex. Smoked haddock, cut plug tobacco, burnt newspapers, but buttery, sweeter cooked fruit notes predominate; Finish: Chewy toffee drying out to oak; Comment: A fine robust dram with lots happening.

Just opened a bottle of this today...after it was sitting on my shelf for 2-3 years. It was great...it is definitely a wine that improves with age.
Quoted: This wine has a plum garnet colour with a complexity of fruits on the nose. A lively Pinotage sweetness balanced by careful wood ageing, plenty of ripe fruit and a spicy finish. The wine is big, yet accessible and will probably age very well.

They're talking about this on The History Channel.
Quoted: Samuel Adams today announced the release of its highly anticipated 2007 release of Samuel Adams Utopias®. By using an extended aging process and the finest all-natural ingredients from around the world, the brewers at Samuel Adams offer an uncarbonated beer with a rich, complex flavor and 25.6% alcohol by volume.
...
Some would say Samuel Adams Utopias is the ultimate beer, an extraordinary beer that can be savored like an old sherry, vintage port, or fine cognac.”

Didn't know that ginseng neutralizes the toxic agents in alcohol.
Quoted: Take about 1000 mg to 3000 mg of ginseng before the party. You will be able to support the effect of alcohol better and your mind will be more focused without having to resort to a cup of coffee. Ginseng also helps the liver in its job to neutralize the toxic agents in alcohol. Ginseng accelerates the decomposition and the elimination of alcohol.

I had assumed that Chef Symon didn't spend a lot of time here, but apparently that's not the case (or it is, but he hides it well). Nice interview.
1 FaverViewed: 3 TimesQuoted: I think it was one of those things that in the '50s and '60s it was very sophisticated to get a cocktail and a nibble. And then it kind of turned a little bit into … I don't want to say a train wreck of a happy hour kind of thing, but you know "eat a 40 buckets of wings and 25 cent beers." Which was fun when I was in college, but I think it just happened that fine dining moved away from it a little bit.
