Quoted: This is probably going to be the single most comprehensive posting in this blog: a continually updated, rundown list of Mumbai’s under construction, planned and proposed skyscrapers above 25 stories. Whenever updates will be posted, I’ll have a post announcing it, but this is the thread that will be updated, so keep it bookmarked!

Quoted: You hear endless debates and claims about the tallest buildings and towers in the world. Here's the story that tell some facts and comparisons based on few sources including Wikipedia. There are no overall agreed global standards on this, and too many factors to consider; should it be only the buildings or also the towers and other structures, should the antennas be counted or not, etc.

Despite the complaints in this article, I actually find the 10th floor of the Seattle Central Library a better place to read than that in any other library. However, I still prefer coffeeshops -- just because I like background noise.
Quoted: The 10th-floor reading room is quieter, more intimate, and yet more stimulating. Punched into the city skyline like a rhomboid treehouse, it connects startlingly with Seattle's urban energy. That may be a positive environment for the digestion of knowledge here in the 21st century. But once the exhilaration subsides, the truth emerges: The room is badly designed and cheesily detailed. The drab plastic study cubicles fail to resonate with the jazzy character of the building envelope.

Checking this documentary out at SIFF tomorrow. I hear it's one of India's stronger entries, curious to see it...
1 FaverViewed: 5 TimesQuoted: “What sin did I commit to be born a woman?” These chilling words of 21-year-old housemaid Lakshmi reverberate throughout Mumbai-based filmmaker Nishtha Jain’s extraordinary documentary. Jain turns the camera on her part-time maid, and in the process illuminates the complex relationship between employer and servant, filmmaker, and subject.
