Report: Enterprise rented and sold cars without side curtain air bags: Consumer Reports on Safety

Quoted: Enterprise then compounded the safety hazard by reselling some of the 2006, 2007, and 2008 Impalas and the 2008 and 2009 Cobalts to unsuspecting used-car buyers. Ads for some of the cars on the Enterprise Web site mistakenly claimed they had side curtain air bags.

Yammer is TC50 Winner - This is a Joke? Right? - ReadWriteWeb

My thoughts exactly. Watch them prove me wrong;)

Quoted: Here is why I would not consider Yammer a serious start-up:
    ...
    1. No barriers.
    2. The incumbent can replace their advantage way too easily.
    3. No natural early adopter. The normal early adopter is on Twitter.
    ...
You use Yammer rather than Twitter to restrict the Followers to your colleagues. So you can discuss company secrets really securely. (That, by the way, was a joke)

Can You Build An Enterprise Only Web App?

Quoted: This is one of the reasons we've struggled so hard to invest in "enterprise 2.0" at Union Square Ventures. We have tried pretty hard to find companies that we can invest in that bring the new web technologies to the enterprise, but often we've found what happens is that consumers (ie employees) bring the web technologies they use every day to work and they prefer that.

Microsoft Announces Takeover Bid for FAST - ReadWriteWeb

Quoted: According to Mary-Jo Foley, we should pay attention to how Microsoft will integrate FAST into their SharePoint Server. "Remember what Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said about SharePoint last year: He characterized SharePoint as the next big operating system from Microsoft," she writes. "More and more, it’s looking like enterprise search functionality is one of the biggest reasons why."

IBM Research | Watson | Cambridge | Dogear

    IBM's enterprise social bookmarking...

Quoted: Dogear exploits the enterprise by allowing people to bookmark pages within their Intranet. In addition it uses enterprise directories to authenticate the user's identity. This allows people to find experts on specific topics within the company. For example, a employee looking for someone knowledgeable in Java can look at the dogear "java" tag to see who has been bookmarking pages around that topic. Dogear will also show tags associated with "java," which may help to refine the search. Once users have found a potential expert, they can see that person's bookmarks, internal blog, and contact information. This form of expertise location helps spur collaboration and sharing of resources within the company.

Tech Confidential Blog: Connectbeam and corporate search

    Enterprise social bookmarking...

Quoted: The company, which recently raised a $3.5 million Series A round from Gabriel Venture Partners and Startup Capital Partners, has signed up Honeywell International Inc. and others to place a Connectbeam appliance into whatever existing Intranet search service the company uses. That way when users search a corporate Intranet, they will also find recent bookmarks and project notes from colleagues anywhere in the company, and anywhere in the world.
