This typeface was designed with tiny "holes" all over each letter, which purports to use 20% less ink when printing text-only documents. It's compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.

Very cool.
Quoted: Free Electronics Recycling Begins January 1, 2009
There are many electronics recyclers in Washington that provide environmentally sound recycling services. However, these recyclers may charge a fee at this time to accept items for recycling. Call 1-800-RECYCLE or visit 1800recycle.wa.gov to find electronic product recycling services in your area. See the E-Cycle Washington Focus Sheet for more information.

This is the goat-rental company (rent a ruminant) that the city hired to clear the brush adjacent to the dog park. See my previous Fave for details. Here is the info if you want to hire a herd for your own purposes:
Quoted: Minimum herd size is 60 goats and 3 days.
The area must be at least 8,000 square feet and have access for a 40 foot truck and trailer.
Tammy lives in her truck on-site and 24-hour access to a bathroom (or Port-A-Potty) must be provided.
60 goats can eat about 1/4 acre (10,000 sq feet) in about 3-5 days.

Quoted: The American leader, who has been condemned throughout his presidency for failing to tackle climate change, ended a private meeting with the words: "Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter."
...
He then punched the air while grinning widely, as the rest of those present including Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy looked on in shock.

Quoted: The disappearance of the Arctic sea ice, making it possible to reach the Pole sailing in a boat through open water, would be one of the most dramatic – and worrying – examples of the impact of global warming on the planet. Scientists say the ice at 90 degrees north may well have melted away by the summer.

I saw these when I was in Paris this past Thanksgiving.
Quoted: It works a lot like a public transportation system. There are daily, weekly, and monthly cards. You can get a card right at the kiosk. Then you enter in your card number and then pick what number bike you want. When you pull the bike out of the rack, it's yours. Here's Emily taking a bike out this morning.

Do you come out ahead financially by purchasing a hybrid?
Quoted: But this quick analysis misses a number of hybrids' other economic benefits.
...
For starters, hybrids are holding their value better than non-hybrid cars. This means that, even if you don't recoup the extra cost of the hybrid in gas savings, you're likely to get more money out of the car when you decide to sell it.
