Ended up eating here last night. Summary: great French food without the "snootiness". It was a little pricey ($50 a head including wine) due to the unfavorable exchange rate:(
Quoted: Bistrot Bistro introduces traditional French country cuisine to contemporary Vancouver design, and marries the intimacy and warmth of casual dining with the class of Kitsilano. A French dining experience like it was meant to be: convivial and comfortable with no snootiness allowed.

Just went here with some friends. The best crepes I've had in Seattle. Atmosphere was pretentious-free and warm and friendly.
I had the Westchester, and it was great. If you get something else -- try and get one with caramelized onions. This is their speciality.
Quoted: The Westchester: Avocado, Swiss, Caramelized Onions, Roma Tomatoes and Spinach with our Sun-dried Tomato Coulis

A friend from Bangalore gave me this book as a gift and raved about how authentic & simple it is. We were eating at a S. Indian restaurant at the time, and the chef/owner actually mentioned that he loves this book. Really excited to try some recipes from it!
1 FaverViewed: 3 TimesQuoted: The author, an Indian food writer, presents dozens of recipes for the various courses of a South Indian vegetarian meal, most accompanied by inviting full-page color photographs. American cooks may recognize a few dishes from Indian restaurants, but most will be new.
