Vancouver Plus.ca - Bars & Restaurants - Ajisai Sushi Bar

We ordered a 24-piece order of spicy rolls (8 scallop, 8 tuna, 8 salmon) for $10 CDN and a seafood salad for $8 CDN. Everything was high quality. I'd image it gets crowded on Friday and Saturday nights.

Note: They do take credit card even though this site says otherwise.

Quoted: Ajisai Sushi isn’t found on a busy road or one that most pedestrians walk past. Instead, it’s hidden away in a small pedestrian passageway beautifully decorated with tiles, flowers and wooden benches.

Nice Japanese place -- much better than Ft. St. George in my opinion. It's known more for the ramen, rice bowls, etc. than the sushi.

Quoted: For some reason the ramen has been selling out every week, so by Friday, lunch time, it is all gone. The reason it sells out is because it takes 10 hours to boil the pork to make the broth the traditional way. Once the broth is gone, they can't sell anymore ramen until more broth is made. Apparently some non-japanese prefer canned chicken stock & ketchup with some kimchee dumped in to mask the real taste of the broth as better tasting.

Fort St George - Seattle - Yelp

Went here based on X's recommendation. Definitely worth checking out.

Quoted: forte st. george is the japanse version of americian food and you know what, the japanse do american food better than americans do.

    Welcome to Red Fin Restaurant

Went here last night. I had lamb medallions, spicy tuna rolls, and an eggplant dish.

Pros: Modern, trendy, great if you like red + black, high quality creative food -- even the non-sushi dishes, undiscovered so it's possible to get a table on Friday night.

Cons: portions are small, not your "everyday" sushi place (upscale, slightly pricier than elsewhere)
