    Leaving Yahoo! (by Jeremy Zawodny)

Jeremy Zawodny is among the many who've announced they're leaving Yahoo.

Quoted: I won't at all be surprised if some people think this is related to Microsoft or Carl Ichan and the uncertainty surrounding Yahoo's future. The reality is that there's nothing pushing me out the door at Yahoo. The reason I'm leaving is that something very compelling has come along to lure me away. Despite what the current press sentiment might be, Jerry and David have built a remarkable company.

Tom's Future of Web Apps, Translated for Product Managers (by Jeremy Zawodny)

    Some great guidelines in here.

Quoted: Build list views and batch manipulation interfaces. Make it easy to see all items of a given type and make it possible to edit them as a group. Flickr does this when you upload a batch of photos. Search, in its many forms, is the classic example of a "list view."

this guy is talking right now. he's polling the audience -- asking them what they want out of social software. nothing too surprising has come out yet.

one surprise: apparently, the fasting growing set of computer users today is seniors. and, that group has lots of time and money!

other comment from audience member: focus on real people and real problems. the geeks in this room are not necessarily the best to do this.
