Bijou Cafe - Portland, OR, 97204-2705 - Citysearch

My second favorite breakfast place in Portland. I still think Mother's Cafe is the best. Anyways...I had an omelette, and the below review is right on. Also, the service was great.

Quoted: Their omelettes, in particular, are the best in town - most places focus on impressing you with the size of the omelette, leaving the fillings and preparation to be compromised. The Bijou's are just how real French omelettes should be: perfectly tender and appropriately-sized for any person with a normal-to-above-normal appetite.

Mama Mia Trattoria - Portland, OR, 97204 - Citysearch

I dotted this awhile ago. This restaurant is owned by the same guy who owns MOM's Bistro.

This is owned by the same guy who owns M.O.M. So, I'm hoping it should be good.

Quoted: Downtown trattoria, Mama Mia's, offers east coast style Italian-American dining. Lush red carpets, gold-framed mirrors, crystal chandeliers, flocked wallpaper

I originally dotted this because it has good Portland info. But, we can also learn from this page/site.

Great American comfort food. They feature a different mother's cooking every month.

Quoted: An homage to home cooking draws in the faithful for brunch at this bright, sunny space.

Quoted: In Portland with a free afternoon? Try this itinerary which fills up half a day on the Historic Columbia River Highway's nearby historic spots, and wildflower havens--with a little bit of hiking to stretch your legs. Then return to Portland more than ready to dine out in one of its fabulous restaurants.
