I think this is a much more broadly applicable (and cheaper!) technology than Microsoft's Surface.
Quoted: It’s also clear that the only real limit on the screen size is the projector, meaning that entire walls can easily be turned into a multi touch user interface. Scrap those white boards in the office, and make every flat surface into a touch display instead. You might even save some money.

HCM is a natural fit for SaaS...
Quoted: "Besides the need for simplicity around human capital [software], there's also the question of where do companies want to invest time and resources," Singh said, who was with Smoley at a Workday event in San Francisco on Tuesday. "Frankly, HCM isn't considered an area of innovation and growth for companies. You're looking for lower cost of ownership and a [faster] time element, and that makes HCM SaaS much more attractive."

Some good, albeit depressing-if-you're-a-large-site, data here. These eCPM numbers are much lower than we see.
Quoted: The overall trends you pick up from the report are not that surprising. For instance, the improved monetization of small websites is because they have more focused content, which presents more targeted advertising opportunity.

Quoted: The services by design approach, if it works, could let SAP protect its profitable licensed software business, get more services revenue from those customers, and address concerns large companies have with putting some of their most sensitive business data in the cloud. For mission-critical applications like accounting, "I don't think large companies will go on demand," Kagermann says.

This is a handy feature of Google Docs I didn't know about...
Quoted: A new (to us) item in the Edit pulldown menu lets you apply standard CSS styles to your Google Doc. A Google Group exists to help you work out any kinks in the process, and a Googler offers a beautiful resume template (available for you to copy into your own Docs account) all styled with CSS.

Quoted: Is it just me, or do the announcements we hear from Salesforce seem to just make a lot more sense than a lot of the tie-ups we hear about on the consumer side of the Web? Last month, the company announced a deal with Google to launch Salesforce for Google Apps, and from what I’ve seen in my brief tour of Visualforce, we’re about to see a lot of really useful applications being cranked out by developers in the Salesforce community. It certainly adds more credence to the theory that Facebook apps are just for fun.

The numbers he sites are really low. However, this tidbit is interesting and potentially surprising...
Quoted: Small sites (less than 1M page views/month) earn 3x better on their remnant ad inventory than medium (>1M page views/month) and large Web sites (>100M page views/month).
The trick, in my opinion, if you are a larger site is to slice your inventory into smaller (and higher CPM) pieces.

Quoted: A few days ago I had pointed out that Microsoft’s bid for Yahoo was a checkmate kind of a move: Yahoo couldn’t win from this attack. Today, by pulling its bid for the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based search company, Microsoft proved that again, and showed why it is still the Prince Machiavelli of Technology. Here is why
