Windows Tip: Sysinternals Live is One-Stop Shop for Launching Must-Have Utilities

This is a great idea. My email provider offers WebDav, so I might set up something similar where I most frequently used applications.

Quoted: Even better, though, you can open up Windows Explorer and point it to \\live.sysinternals.com\ to browse and launch any Sysinternals app as though you've already downloaded and installed it on your computer. That means next time you're doing tech support for friends and you forgot your PC Rescue Kit, you can quickly get to any Sysinternals tool for help.

CodeClimber: "All I need is a Programmer"

Quoted: [From a commenter] In my experience people with this proposition are just as seriously underestimating the business side. If you're going to take on a business partner, that partner better be able to bring in money. You should ask how much money they're bringing to the table and what the sales pipeline looks like. If both are empty, then they aren't going to hold up their end of the bargain no matter what you build.

Quoted: The Giveaway of the Day web site is offering the normally $90 Data Recovery Wizard Professional software as a free download today only. If you've accidentally deleted important files or documents, chances are the Data Recovery Wizard Professional edition can recover them (if another process didn't overwrite the disk space with new data).

Distributed revision control - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My friend recommends DVCS, specifically Mercurial, over centralized source control.

Quoted: First generation DVCSes include Arch and Monotone. The second generation was prompted by the arrival of Darcs, followed by a host of others, including Mercurial, Bazaar, and Git.

This quantitative approach is becoming increasingly common in other areas as well. MailBucket

Cool. I'm going to give this a try for some of my mailing lists. You could also use this (along with autodotting) to create dots by email.

Quoted: For now its only feature is a public email-to-RSS gateway: forward your email to slurp@mailbucket.org and have your news reader pick it up at mailbucket.org/slurp.xml (where you choose slurp, having checked that it's not already in use).
