Show Pages - Fareed Zakaria GPS - CNN.com

Great Sunday morning show on CNN at 10am Pacific. I especially enjoy the second half where international analysts give the global perspective on issues that I otherwise only hear covered from the U.S. perspective.

Quoted: Fareed Zakaria GPS is an hour-long program that takes a comprehensive look at foreign affairs and the policies shaping our world. Every week we bring you an in-depth interview with a world leader, as well as a panel of international analysts who examine the major global developments of the week.

ESPN360 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ESPN is showing live matches from Wimbledon on this Internet channel. I'm dotting because the business model is unique -- they charge the ISPs for the service! Of course, ISPs won't do this unless they can pass the costs on to the customer somehow. And then, you have to wonder if this is better than ESPN just charging the customer directly.

Unfortunately for me, Comcast doesn't carry it yet.

Quoted: The program only fully works through Internet service providers who have signed up and paid ESPN for the programming. Viewers from non-subscribing ISP's only can see a preview (roughly 3-5 minutes of taped content), although there are occasions where ESPN360 is "all access" and permits all individuals to access the site.

Does The Internet Have Enough Juice For Joost? at Simon’s Blog

Joost is pretty good -- not so good that I think "how did I live without this" but good enough that it is something I will use maybe a couple times a month. I like that it is streaming video -- so I don't have to wait to start watching a show. And, they have some interesting channels. But, it remains to be seen if this succeeds as a business.

Quoted: Joost, the new peer to peer (P2P) television company has just completed a $45M round of financing, led by Index Ventures and Sequoia Capital. It’s a big round of financing, given that it’s so early on in the company’s life. Clearly, they want to get big, fast. It’s not surprising they got this done - it was almost certain to be a hot deal with VCs, given it’s founded by the guys that founded Skype.
