It looks like Labor Day weekend day session tickets are sold out already:(
Quoted: You should get your tickets as soon as they go on sale, especially if you want to be in Arthur Ashe stadium. The ticket to Ashe will get you in to the other stadium courts and grounds courts as well. Individual tickets to these will likely sell out immediately, particularly since many are already sold as part of Full Series subscriptions and as part of the pre-sale to USTA members a month ago.

Roddick was so close in the first two sets. But, serve aside, Federer demonstrated that he is still a better player than Roddick.
Quoted: Top-ranked Roger Federer and No. 5 Andy Roddick played a high-quality match last night that United States Open fans would kill to see in Sunday’s final. The problem for Roddick is Federer’s best is still better than his.

Federer demonstrated why he's the best. At the same time, he showed that he can be overpowered, at least until he figures out his opponent's game. I think the key is for Roddick to come out serving and swinging hard.
Quoted: Then 0-40 on the Federer serve; and AN ASTONISHING TWO SETS LATER before he lost another service point. That's right, NO MORE SERVICE POINTS DROPPED from the start of the 3rd to the last game of the 4th. Incredible.

Go Sania! She's playing the best I've seen, but I don't want to get too optimistic.
Quoted: “It was difficult at the beginning, but I think people have accepted it,” Mirza, 20, said yesterday after defeating Laura Granville, 6-3, 7-5, in the second round of the Open. “I’ve accepted the fame, with the good and the bad that comes with it.

Sania spent a lot of time conditioning following recent knee surgery. She definitely displayed better movement than she has in the past.
Quoted: Sania Mirza had a minor glitch in the second set but she was able to upright her game as she crossed the first hurdle of the US open beating Kaia Kanepi to enter the second round at the Flushin Meadows, New York.

Tiger Woods and Roger Federer met up before the final. They are making history in their respective sports.
Quoted: Woods, however, won his ninth major in his 39th major tournament. Federer required only 30 majors. Sampras, interestingly enough, won his ninth major in tournament No. 31. Bjorn Borg, incredibly, did it in his 22nd Grand Slam, but he retired abruptly at the age of 25 with 11 titles.

A pre-print article for Library Trends, this is a no-holds barred critique of institutional repository politics, software, usage statistics, utility (from the researcher's point of view), and of the library establishment for not providing enough support and training to make them work, from the point of view of a fed-up IR manager from the University of Wisconsin. Very insightful, with colourful language, as the title suggests. (Thanks, Ann for the link!)

I'm not surprised it drew in so many viewers - with all the rain delays, it was easy for people to tune in as word of mouth got around about the match...
