Vancouver Plus.ca - Bars & Restaurants - Ajisai Sushi Bar

We ordered a 24-piece order of spicy rolls (8 scallop, 8 tuna, 8 salmon) for $10 CDN and a seafood salad for $8 CDN. Everything was high quality. I'd image it gets crowded on Friday and Saturday nights.

Note: They do take credit card even though this site says otherwise.

Quoted: Ajisai Sushi isn’t found on a busy road or one that most pedestrians walk past. Instead, it’s hidden away in a small pedestrian passageway beautifully decorated with tiles, flowers and wooden benches.

Unusual uses of traffic lights - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've been meaning to look this up for years.

Quoted: The flashing green indicates that the signal is not currently in use. As soon as a pedestrian pushes the button to trigger the signal, the light changes to solid green for a short time before entering the normal yellow/red/green sequence, then returns to flashing green until another crossing is requested; however, in some places such as Vancouver, it goes directly from flashing green to yellow, leaving out the solid green sequence.

    Bistrot Bistro

Ended up eating here last night. Summary: great French food without the "snootiness". It was a little pricey ($50 a head including wine) due to the unfavorable exchange rate:(

Quoted: Bistrot Bistro introduces traditional French country cuisine to contemporary Vancouver design, and marries the intimacy and warmth of casual dining with the class of Kitsilano. A French dining experience like it was meant to be: convivial and comfortable with no snootiness allowed.

Went here today for dinner. Wasn't too impressed with the price/portions although the food was okay. Apparently, this restaurant is best known for the crab -- and we should have ordered accordingly.
