Voracious: Canal Street Coffee (Seattle Weekly)

Refaving this place. They have plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the Burke-Gilman trail and the canal. On top of that, they offer free wi-fi, serve lunch, and have power outlets outside.

Quoted: Two doors down from my favorite language escuela, Seattle Language Academy (just off the Burke-Gilman in Fremont), is the brand new Canal Street Coffee.

Caffeine Cafe - Belltown - Seattle, WA

New coffee shop / cafe right next to 24 Hour Fitness

Quoted: Carly C. says "Why is this place not totally crowded for Sunday brunch? Great food and great service! The menu is not too long (oui oui). They took a piece of toast, cut a hole in it, and put a fried egg inside. Kick ass.....On the side…

Downtown Cups Seattle, Downtown | Yelp

A reasonably good coffee shop just a block west of our office.

Quoted: I like this place for lunch as well...just don't be in a rush. The panini sandwiches are good but except to wait several minutes. So come for a leisurely, casual lunch, but I would pass on the coffee. I have been here multiple times for…

Stumptown Coffee Roasters - Seattle, WA | Yelp

There are two Stumptown locations in Capitol Hill. Rumor is the owner has a beef with the Vita owner. Hence the two Stumptown locations are equidistant to Vita. Looks like the 12th and Madison location is the bigger of the two -- with two stories.

UPDATE: I'm not a fan of the 12th and Madison location...too industrial.

Quoted: I was elated when I found out Stumptown was coming to Seattle! I went to Stumptown religiously when I lived in Portland. This is the best coffee in the Seattle! The second best is Tutta Bella in Columbia City for their pulled espresso, reminds me of espresso I had in Paris mmmmmmh and third is El Diablo for fun atmosphere and mexican chocolate mochas!

Business & Technology | Portland's Stumptown Coffee Roasters coming to Seattle | Seattle Times Newspaper

This Portland coffeeshop company now has two locations in Seattle.

Went to a Capitol Hill location (right next to Rudy's Barbershop on Pine) today. The coffee is maybe even better than Vivace's. It's also a decent place to work. While a little small, there is lots of power.

Quoted: David Schomer, a roaster and self-confessed "espresso-head" whose Espresso Vivace is considered by many to have Seattle's most delicious coffee, says he welcomes the competition.
    ...
"Lucky Seattle," Schomer said. "They get another good microroaster. These people are spoiled now."

IPhone-Free Cellphone News - New York Times

Redotting. This seems very cool although I don't know if it will save me money in practice -- since I don't use all my 1000 minutes every month anyways.

Quoted: Here’s the basic idea. If you’re willing to pay $10 a month on top of a regular T-Mobile voice plan, you get a special cellphone. When you’re out and about, it works like any other phone; calls eat up your monthly minutes as usual.
    ..
But when it’s in a Wi-Fi wireless Internet hot spot, this phone offers a huge bargain: all your calls are free.
