Watched this the other night on DVD--good, inspiring story (esp. since it's based on a true story). Will Smith's son is so cute in it. I'm interested in leaning more about the real Chris Gardner now. Will Smith does a great job playing this character. (and he's nominated for a Golden Globe for it!)

Saw it tonight with Matt and thought it was great! It really followed the original pretty well with a lot of similar scenes and dialogue. Yes, there were some changes--like this re-make has a twist such that it can't be a trilogy (whereas the original is Part 1 of a trilogy) and it changed some of the characters...but overall, it was a really good remake of the original. Bravo!

Fans of The Departed---here's the original HK film called Infernal Affairs, which is actually part of a trilogy. There are trailers on here too worth checking out.

I've got all 3 at home if anyone ever wants to see it.

Rented this tonight--really liked it. It's brutally honest and blunt. The acting was great and the script was really, well, I wouldn't say realistic---but it's like these things probably happen in real life but no one would actually show it in a movie. Anyhow, definitely recommend.

I'm not sure when this is going to be released---but The Departed is the Martin Scorcese remake of Infernal Affairs, probably one of my favorite Hong Kong cop movies of all time. I am SOOOOO psyched to see this movie come out. There's a trailer out right now:
