    Jumbo Kingdom

Though this is a very popular tourist attraction, I hadn't ever tried dining at this restaurant until this trip. It's the Jumbo Floating Restaurant located in the neighborhood of Aberdeen--you have to take a short boat ride to get to the restaurant. I was actually surprised by how upscale it was inside (then of course, we were led into the locals dining room instead of the big group tours dining room). Still, I found the food to be quite good--the fish and shrimp were very fresh.

Hong Kong Dining: Felix Restaurant, The Peninsula Hotel Hong Kong

Ate here while in Hong Kong--on the top floor of the Peninsula, it offers spectacular views, provides a very hip ambience and never fails to amaze with its delicious food. I'm still thinking about the white truffle egg custard starter I tried!

Quoted: Created by world-famous avant-garde designer Philippe Starck, Felix sits on the 28th floor of The Peninsula Tower and is Hong Kong's most glamorous dining experience. Expect contemporary cuisine, exhilarating interiors and lighting - plus the most incredible sweeping views of the harbor and Hong Kong's skyline; great for people-watching too. The small, space-age Felix Bar also draws a glamorous crowd any time from happy hour to after hours.

So...yeah, I've been offline for the past few days. The big earthquake that hit Taiwan Tuesday night (I think it was a 7.1) snapped a bunch of cables on the ocean floor that connect South Asia to the outside world---almost all internet in Hong Kong and phone lines were down for the last few days. Seriously. No internet. Anywhere in Hong Kong. It's slooowly coming back and I'm typing this on a slow connection. One of the biggest telecommunications news stories to hit Hong Kong in years. I think this also affected parts of Japan, Korea and Singapore as well (Nadine, Asayo--can you attest?) Bizarre!
