It's Women's History Month! Take my Famous Feminists Quiz.
I managed to commission 3 feminist friendly articles on Encarta for March, including this one. Just doing what I can in my little corner of the world. Just remember ladies, we're not there yet, so don't be complacent!ShareViewed: 55 Times

Super page. I loved the article about nasty political campaigns in history.
This is a telling stat: "In 1985, when the feminist political network Emily's List started tracking women's participation in government, only two women served in the U.S. Senate. It was still two in 1992. Now it's 16."
Yeah, I'm still trying to decide if that's a positive or not. On the one hand, hurray for any increased representation. On the other hand, come on, there's 100 seats in the senate ... 16% is kind of small potatoes. But, maybe I'm not being realistic? After all, as recently as 1965 Washington women needed written permission from their husbands in order for the bank to allow them to use their checkbooks. 1965!
That was my thinking. I mean, only two in the power-woman 1980s?! Wow.
Incumbency is a factor. Robert Byrd was in the Senate when women got the right to vote I think.
hey nice guide. i like.
