Another heart-warming move from our "Christian" president. Giving a giant f*** you to the poor, we expect from a Republican, but poor, sick KIDS is a new low. I'd love for him to to talk to some of these "higher-income families" -- probably mostly single mother households where she has to work two jobs to stay afloat. Having two or more jobs so you can maybe make $30K a year does not make you a high-income family...and god forbid your kid has a serious illness. But, let's keep spending billions of dollars to bomb other countries. Seems like something Jesus would do.
Quoted: Bush argued that the congressional plan would be a move toward socialized medicine by expanding the program to higher-income families.

I was at QFC today and this really confident boy scout handed me a flyer to buy some school supplies for his troop project to benefit Treehouse. I've been looking for volunteer opportunities tutoring kids like this, but Treehouse seems to have plenty of volunteers right now. They have a waiting list for volunteers! Anyone know of an organization that really needs people to mentor down-and-out kids?
