    #break#

In addition to make it somewhat confusing the common North American walleye is sometimes referred to as the yellow walleye to distinguish it from the extinct blue walleye.

    #break#

The Blue Walleye was a prolific fish of the Great Lakes- predominantly Lakes Erie and Ontario.

How do you catch the wily Northern Pike in late autumn period when the Northern Pile have set up along weed and reed lines and along shorelines littered with fallen trees and submerged wood?

    #break#

Be innovative employ slightly larger than normal ( to 1 ounce weight) bass-style willow leaf spinner baits. A worm or a twister tale can be added to further entice the fish out for a strike

    #rbreak#

. In addition this combination works to great effect being quickly retrieved as the lure bulges just below the lake waters surface.

    #rbreak#
You need not hop, pop or play around with the lure in any way. Just keep the lures moving continually through the water.

    #break#

When the bigger game Pike wont come to the surface though, you can dredge them up with a heavier 1 ounce to2 ounce muskie size spinnerbait. Just let the spinnerbait flutter down and then slowly crank it back to the boat

    #break#

Keeping the lure within a foot of the lake bottom at all times. This will work best in thick grass but also on main rocky lake structures as well

Northern Canadian Pike are reputed to be among the wiliest fish around the globe.

    #break#

You can be sure that the huge Northern Canadian Pike at the end of your rod, thrashing away, is giving you among the hardest and most challenging catches you have ever experienced in your angling career as an adventurous fisherman.

    #break#

These fish sure know where to hide and how to fight. Where and how do you find them throughout the fishing season?

    #break#

If you can find the Pike in a less belligerent mode or when you are fishing areas of lakes that where the water is stained, a prop bait like a Splash-Tail that will sputter across the surface will cause the Pike to make that stab.

    #break#

Pop baits can also be deadly when the killer Pike are resting beside isolated forms of cover such as giant deadheads poking their nose above the waters.

    #break#

If you wait until the water is good and cold, such as may well occur in the late fall season or in the early springtime you may well have great luck with the Pike of the seas.

    #break#

The Pike can best be found around rock structures. You might well try to catch a jerkbait during these cold water spring or late fall time fishing expeditions.

    #break#

The jerkbaits are not snagless, but you can throw a hard jerk, if there are only a few feet of water over the top of those deep weeds.

It's no accident that fishing is not the easiest sport in the world. With all the variables of water clarity, water tint, weather conditions and lighting variations in nature it is no small accident that there are no hard and fast simple rules to choosing which lure and lure colors will catch the most fish for you on that bay, river or lake.
