  Samantha Ronson is a highly in-demand celebrity DJ, but the world knows her best as the girl rumored to be having a relationship with Lindsay Lohan.

  Despite lately living under a media microscope, Samantha and her two siblings, producer Mark and designer Charlotte, gave a rare interview to Harper’s Bazaar in their September issue, where the Ronsons channeled the quirky family from 2001’s “The Royal Tenenbaums.”

  Samantha has become a fixture in tabloids and gossip blogs since forming a friendship with Lindsay Lohan, but the DJ told the mag she prefers life outside the spotlight. “I stay away from the tabloids. I don’t feel that I should personally have to defend myself to a magazine that I’m not a drug addict. I don’t do drugs. I don’t sell pictures of my friends,” Samantha told the mag.

  When pressed about the rumors that she and Lindsay are dating, Samantha is quick to squash notions of a romance with the actress.

  “I’m not going to talk about Lindsay because she’s my friend, you know? She’s great. She’s also 22 years old. I think people forget that,” she said. “With the Internet the way it is, one second we’re enemies, one second we’re best friends, one second we’re lovers, and then we’re broken up.”

  Lindsay gave a more guarded answer on the pair’s status, telling the mag in an e-mail, “I love the Ronsons. They’re close to my [heart] and I respect all the work they do. Samantha and my relationship is a private matter.”
