Quoted: he did put forward a photograph of a street person’s shelter for inclusion. This interest was further expressed in the series of photographs he took of small houses and shepherds’ shelters in the hills around Genoa when on a walking holiday with Jane Crawford and of self-built shanties in the West Indies.

This is a great site on the abandoned subway system in Rochester, NY. There is an archive of photos, maps, videos, etc. It was done by Michael Governale and Otto M. Vondrak. Very impressive.
Quoted: The Rochester Subway may be gone, but this site brings back a piece of history few people know about.

I've posted some photos from the abandoned subway tunnel in Rochester, NY, which is a very unique setting with a lot of colorful paintings on the walls. I hope the city will make use of it someday, although maybe it's better as is.

Innovative projects by Chinese architects. I like this one especially: Pingod Sales Center / Art Museum by Atelier Feichang Jianzhu.
Quoted: while firms from around the world are delightedly helping China push its design boundaries, the country's own young architects may be the most interesting to watch.

Samples from the current Hélio Oiticica exhibition at Tate Modern. I like this box!
Quoted: Oiticica produced a remarkable body of work throughout his career, from abstract compositions to early environmental installations, in which he continually sought to challenge the way in which art could be experienced.

Great idea! It's like a geodesic dome made of hula-hoops.

I'd love to see this, so I'll have to find out how to get to Oliver Ranch. Well, at least there is the KQED feature for now.
Quoted: The product of almost nine years of discussion and three years of construction, Hamilton's tower was inspired by a 16th-century Italian well that led farm animals down to water via one staircase and -- because they couldn't turn around on their own -- back to the top via another. Yet unlike a well deep in the ground, Hamilton's work rises high above the landscape.
