    Chez Panisse Foundation

I'm looking forward to checking out Chez Panisse after hearing a lot about their work educating kids in nutrition and how food choices affect the environment.

Quoted: The Foundation envisions a nationwide public school curriculum at all levels that includes hands-on experiences in school kitchens, gardens, and lunchrooms. This curriculum will inspire students to choose healthy food and help them understand the impact of their choices on their health, the health of their communities, and the planet.

    Conservation International

I have so much respect for Peter Seligmann and Conservation International. I know there has been a dizzying amount of "green" articles in the media lately, but Conservation International deserves credit for taking on these issues long before they became the cause du jour.

Quoted: A first step is to recognize this fundamental truth: All people and all societies depend on the Earth’s natural bounty for survival. Whether you call it biodiversity or creation, our planet’s sum of life gives us the fresh water, clean air, food, medicines, productive soils, pollinators, and other sustenance we need.
