I still don't like the Red Sox nor Schilling really, but this is frackin kewl...
Quoted: In deciding what to do upon his retirement, Schilling said, he wanted to do something he was passionate about instead of "just opening a restaurant or something." He has said he plans to honor his Red Sox contract for 2007.
Best part of Schilling's talk?
Quoted: "I decided I would put together my '27 Yankees, my dream team of people," said Schilling at an MIT Enterprise Forum. "I hate to tease, but it's cool. It's exciting. I am trying to get into the space with a group of people passionate about creating something that is epic in every sense of the word."
When you want something 'epic' look no farther then the Yankees!!!

Some SICK fan art by Gabe from Penny Arcade for Gears of War.
Quoted: You know you're doing something right as a game developer when Penny Arcade's Gabe decides to whip up a little fan art for a game you're working on. Yes, I'm excited about Gears of War too, I just can't draw.

click to playUwe Boll get's revenge on one of his critics!!!
The boxing itself it pretty pathetic, but this is just too funny. Uwe Boll, the putrid video game to movie director, challanged all of the movie critcs bashing him in the media to a good old boxing match. Looks like he found a taker, and man is this critic a worse.
First round in pretty boring, but starting in the second (it only last three rounds) the critic starts turning his back and running away from Boll. What a bitch...

The conservatives are at it again over Bully. I mean the game hasn't even come out yet...
Quoted: "How long will it be before we hear on the news about a victim of bullies who is inspired by the new game and retaliates using a baseball bat?" asks Hitchcock, in a statement that proclaimed her as an "Internet expert." "There is a tremendous probability that this new game will send out twisted messages, possibly even influence victims of bullying to resort to violence as a means of defense."
Umm....you mean just like Ozzy Osborne and Metallica corrupting the young not all that long ago...or take your pick of rappers...they're totally corrupt our youth....no question...
Quoted: Citing a report by The American Justice Department, Hitchcock points out that 77 percent of students say they have been bullied and one in five has admitted to being a bully. The statement didn't mention any specific demographics. "[The glorification of the game's violence] targets the video game to kids and teens, who are impressionable and might come to believe they could be just like Jimmy Hopkins and beat the daylights out of their real-life bullies," says Hitchcock. "That is not the message that should be sent out."
So 77% of kids are being bullied? Why aren't adults working on the source of the problem, the bullies, instead of going after a VIDEO GAME that might influence some kid to stand up for themselves since the adults won't? How it that Rockstar's fault?

This is too good. PSP v DS Lite...
Quoted: Crying eleven-year-old speaks more to me of "total pussy" than it does of "brand loyalty", but it's a powerful image all the same. I feel that I must stick up for Sony for a moment here, so I will reiterate that I am enjoying the living crap out of Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and that God of War is some sort of masterpiece. But please, gamedevs, start using the PSP's hardware to its full extent before it's too late! Eliza Gauger
I whole heartedly agree. I really like my PSP, but the game devs for it really need to pump out some "must-have" games...or at least some supper fun portable games...

Here's a more in-depth run down of the Louisiana video game legislation. Interesting read, particularly because it illistrates so clearly what a jack ass Jack Thompson is...
Quoted: Surely, this was Jack Thompson's high-water mark in his longstanding crusade against video game violence. The bill he personally authored and championed had passed without a single "nay" vote. At long last he had plunged his sword of righteousness into the cold heart of the evil, child corrupting video game industry. The sound of Doug Lowenstein grinding his teeth could be heard all the way from Washington, D.C. to Baton Rouge to Miami.
And then, just when he should have been savoring his moment in the sun, Jack Thompson instead switched into political self-destruct mode. Things started unraveling in mid-July with his ill-fated attempt to file an amicus curiae or "friend of the court" brief with Federal Judge James Brady, who is presiding over the industry lawsuit. It seems that a couple of those oh-so-annoying legal requirements were forgotten, including the one that says Thompson isn't licensed to practice before Judge Brady's court and thus can't file anything there.
He is such a JACK ASS

More Video Game legislation bites the dust...
Quoted: For those keeping track, this is the seventh separate federal ruling defending video games as speech. You'd think that by this point state politicians would begin to consider this settled law. That is, unless these laws are more about scoring political points than actually meeting any sort of constitutional test.
Dam right video games should be treated as freedom of speech.

Looks like MS has a new selling point for the 360, which the PS3 can't match. No vibration in the PS3, but with the new Xbox Live Vision Camera you can work some 'teledildonics' with a willing friend...
Quoted: "When you press the trigger button, it makes the controller of the person you're talking to vibrate," said Nelson. "So two people... well, I'll let you fill in the blanks!"
