peteyli | Shared With: Everyone - Nov 22 2006 | xbox 360, xbox, news, amazonWell, it's just the Core System, but still only $100. If ya pick up the HD ($99) and a wireless controller ($50) it's still cheaper then the regular price of the Core System. Not Bad.
So if you don't have a 360, and ya want one now is your chance...
Quoted: So, starting Thursday, November 23, at 11 a.m. Pacific Standard Time, Amazon will sell 1,000 Xbox 360 Core Systems for just $100 a pop. The Core System, which does not contain a hard drive and has only a wired controller, normally retails for $299. The $100 Xbox 360 must be bought through Amazon's Amazon Customers Vote Deal page, which will issue a redemption code to winners. The site has also posted some helpful tips on how to submit a winning entry.

I download this update last night, and so far so good. My 360 hasn't bricked yet and become a paper weight (again). I just find this amazing.
So was it the rush to support 1080p before the PS3 hit shelves? Was it trying to crash modders 360's? Guess we'll never know, but my confidence in MS and the 360 was already on shaky ground...this updated doesn't help.
Quoted: "A small percentage of consoles were affected negatively by the fall update (less than one percent have reported issues). We're working with those affected to get them back up and running, whether that be by providing another console or fixing their existing console. We're committed to resolving this issue."
Really? 1%? Just like only 3-5% of consoles were bricking off the line and having a Red Lights of Death experience? That's why both these problems have run rampant on the internet? I mean this update just happened, and it created enough of a stir that MS is actually acknowledging it, and trying to fix it? They're even going to replace or fix MORE consoles for free?
At least this time around it only took MS a day to respond to the problem instead of 9 months, and they are going to fix people's consoles. So points there, but it just makes me wonder if there is a fundamental flaw with the system...
Don't get me wrong though....the games are GREAT. Got my pre-order in for Gears, and I'm counting the days...
