I got a Roland Cube for Christmas that is very noisy. When I touch the chassis it goes quiet. I'm hoping that a grounded power cord will quiet things down.
UPDATE: That did the trick. My Cube is now dead quiet so it should work well for recording. Why someone would design a modern guitar amp with a two prong power plug is beyond me.
Quoted: If your amp doesn't have a grounded plug, then this mod will make it both safer and quieter.

This guy has built many MANY FX pedals.
Quoted: If you have moderately decent soldering skills and can follow directions, there's no reason you can't build your own guitar effects pedals!
