Markins - Light Weight Ultra Precision Q-Ball Q3

Quoted: Markins Q3 Emille is a triumph of compact design and precision engineering. Its distinctive bell shaped design (patented) is inspired by the legendary Emille Bell. The compactness and light weight of Q3 Emille is ideal to match with a light-weighted tripod such as Gitzo series-1 or smaller tripods. It is strong enough to support small SLR cameras such as Nikon D70 or Canon 20D with mid-sized zoom lens such as 70-200mm/f2.8.

Acratech Online Store: Acratech Ultimate Ballhead

Thom Hogan (http://bythom.com/support.htm) writes about this ballhead:

"A strange looking head, but it is light (1 pound) and works quite well. I especially like the fact that I can keep the ball clean while traveling in hostile environments. Strongly consider getting the rubber knobs (an extra cost option), as the metal knobs are rough on the hand when you do a lot of fiddling."

Lensbabies >>> Selective Focus SLR camera lenses

Just ordered one of these. Sounds like fun.

The Gadgeteer - EagleTec SD to CF II Card Adapter

There are a number of SD to CF I/II adapters. Many aren't flush, which means they can't be used in a camera. Some have reliability problems. This one sounds better than most.

Quoted: I live by the Boy Scout motto: Be Prepared. I have a zippered pouch in my gear bag that has all kinds of little adapters and tools. Things like the Victorinox CyberTool and FlexUSB adapter. I just found another adapter that will be taking up permanent residence in that pouch: The EagleTec SD to CF card adapter, which I received from Brando. There isn't anything really mysterious about this adapter. It is basically a CF Type II shell, with a slot that an SD card can plug into.

Amazon.com: RipRoar - Creation Station: Toys & Games

Costco has this for $80. Unclear if it's a total piece of junk or if it's at least worth the money. Unfortunately, no reviews on Amazon yet.

12/26 - Amazon reviews are now in - almost all negative. Camera is cheap, software is buggy and awful. But, Walmart is selling it for $15 on closeout and the green screen material alone (10' x 6') might be worth that. It comes with clips and double-sided foam.

Using the included green screen, integrated software, and one-click upload, the possibilities are endless! For example, you can easily make it look like you are surfing down a mountain, next to a bear who's telling you a joke, with fish flying over your head! What can I do with it?
