Basics - So Young, and So Gadgeted - NYTimes.com

Quoted: EVERYONE knows that babies crawl before they walk, and that tricycles come before two-wheelers. But at what age should children get their first cellphone, laptop or virtual persona?

    SamRack

I have not seen these in person. they don't look as nice as the ones I have and they have a prominent logo on the outside. $19.75 per pair, including shipping. Costs go down for additional sets shipped. Don't know if he has bulk pricing.

    Quoted: # Wood
    # Long Rack! 22 cm; 8.65 inches
    carefully designed to fit inside:

    1. The round padded bag (6 color choices) for SamTimers, even with a clock inside.
    2. The green rectangular padded bag for SamTimers, even with a clock inside.
    3. The rectangular MutiBagTM bag (7 color choices) for SamTimers, with a clock inside, and pens, keys etc!

    # Lightweight yet sturdy.
    # Pleasing slanted back with wide base -- prevents you tipping the rack and revealing your tiles to the opponent.
    # Rounded top
    # Indented plateau so you can shuffle tiles easily
    # Fits all kinds of tiles
    # Rubberized feet to minimize slipping
    # End stoppers keep tiles on the rack without sliding off
    # Beautiful!
    # SamRack wood stain colors: "oak" (light) or "walnut" (dark)

Quoted: FThe success of such destinations as Club Penguin and Webkinz has paved the way for an explosion of new sites for children. As of last month, more than 100 new virtual worlds had started up or were in development, according to Virtual Worlds Management, a trade group based in Austin, Tex.

Many sites such as Empire of Sports, Planet Cazmo and Xivio are aimed at so-called tweens, ages 8 to 12. For those who have outgrown Club Penguin but who are too young for MySpace, the sites offer a hybrid of a games site and a social network. This year, more than 12 million children nationwide under the age of 18 will visit at least one of these sites, and that number will grow to 20 million by 2011, according to the research firm eMarketer (which didn’t estimate how many children would pretend to be French single mothers).

    Protiles

The best scrabble tiles available. I recommend the injection molded ones (in black, white, blue, or red), but there are more colors available in the silk-screened ones.

    Etsy :: Scrabble Coasters - Set of 4 (ltg002)

Faving for chip. I think these are ceramic tiles, not real scrabble tiles.

Quoted: My coasters are made from tiles, backed with cork to avoid scratching tables. Each tile is decoupaged with decorative papers (each tile will vary slightly from another, and may vary just slighty from the above photo, but the same general pattern carries through each set of 4) and sealed twice with a waterproof varnish to add shine, and protect against water damage. Therefore, these coasters are completely functional! To wash them, just wipe with a damp rag. Each tile measures approximately 4.25" x 4.25".

If you're looking for a particular pattern or color scheme, let me know! I just might be able to come up with what you want. I might also be able to make more than one of a set - convo me for details.

Jeopardy! Match Ends in a First-Ever Three Way Tie

    Another clueless guy.

Quoted: Being too careful probably cost returning champ Scott Weiss, who didn't up his wager much for the "Final Jeopardy!" round.

Why did the Jeopardy guy go for a tie? - TV Squad

This guy got it, but apparently not immediately.

Quoted: Seems that Weiss, well, is just a great guy, and thought it would be cool for all of them to end up with a bunch of money! I guess it's our cynical nature to immediately think that Weiss had made a mistake in betting the way he did. So good for him.
