"People don’t buy Ultimate for the extras that are coming out, they buy Ultimate in anticipation of the extras that are coming out...But with Ultimate Extras, people are betting on a promise - that Microsoft will deliver useful enhancements to them regularly. And so far, stepping into the maturity of this OS release, that is an empty promise. A promise now not far from a lie."
Microsoft better respond, or they'll pay dearly for this I'll bet. That said, Ultimate has still got more features than Home Premium or Business, excluding Extras.

And most times it’s not the fault of the user, it’s just difficult to describe what you see with words. A feature new to Windows 7, called “Problem Steps Recorder” looks to be the missing tool for documenting where it all goes wrong."
This is pretty useful - and even machine-parseable. Could make for some much-improved support experiences.

Obviously the OSC didn't attend Microsoft's recent PDC to pick-up their copy of Windows 7 that clearly exists."
WTF, seriously. Fair enough, you dislike BBC because their iPlayer is not Linux compatible. Fair complaint. But this doesn't even make sense. What exactly have BBC done wrong?

"Browser software company, Opera, has complained to the European Commission over Microsoft's bundling of Internet Explorer with the Windows operating system -- but Microsoft says it's been doing it for a decade and the practice is good for consumers... Opera has asked the Commission to force Microsoft into separating Internet Explorer from Windows and even bundle alternative browsers on the desktop. "
WTF, when will these companies stop whinging and be consistent - go sue Red Hat, Novell, Ubuntu, Apple as well if you're serious. A browser is an integral component, and having more pre-installed crap is the last thing I want.

"Apparently a blogger named Kwisatz has uncovered a "secret" photo embedded into the hologram that encompasses the Windows Vista Business DVD. This being Microsoft, the photo naturally depicts three total nerds, grinning excessively at their own cleverness."
Confirmed over at the official Windows Vista blog, but seriously, who cares and don't you have better things to do that look at these tiny 1mm sized pics?

"Google has filed a confidential antitrust complaint against MS with the US Department of Justice, alleging that Microsoft Vista's inbuilt search engine slows down Google's competing Google Desktop Search (GDS) program and cannot be turned off..."
Er hello, just shut down the Windows Search service! I wonder if Google will go after Apple too because Spotlight can't be 'shut down' either...oh that's right, they're working together!

Wow, I'm still surprised there's no feedback on this article defending Apple...tsk tsk, the Apple fanboy crew is letting Apple down...
