It's obvious that the media got played, but I'm disappointed that political "leaders" didn't step in to set them straight.
Quoted: Most papers dutifully reported that a Georgian attack in the breakaway province of South Ossetia, where most people want to join Russia, started the conflict. But casual readers might have struggled to understand that.

Multimedia artist whose specialty is pulling pranks on the mass media
Quoted: Internationally notorious artist Joey Skaggs is a satirist, prankster, media critic, and social activist. Since the sixties, he has duped the world press with outrageous fabricated news stories highlighting disinformation, hype, hypocrisy, social injustice and the misuse of power. Skaggs purposefully challenges people to consider their core beliefs, how they came to them, if they ever question them, and if not, why not. He has now created an actual product befitting his work. It's the Universal Bullshit Detector Watch -- a wristwatch that also flashes, moos and poops, allowing the wearer to make social commentary with humor. Available at www.bswatch.com.

That was not nice of Roddick.
1 FaverViewed: 4 TimesQuoted: That litany of health issues Novak Djokovic dealt with earlier in the week -- hip, ankle, stomach and more -- seemed a tad humorous to Andy Roddick. So Roddick joked about it, first by saying in an on-court interview it sounded as though Djokovic had "about 16 injuries," then by wondering aloud whether the problems might not also include bird flu, anthrax, SARS and a common cold. - Tennis news
