Somehow i missed this whole lock bumping thing until right now.
it's basically a "skeleton key", which works on the fillowing principle: trick the lock into thinking the key is there, by smacking a filed-down key [a "bump key"], which vibrates the shafts, sending the pins up the slots, and allowing the cylinder to turn.

this video explains how it works (hundreds like it on the internet) and how to make bump keys. then it gives you a little demo of how to use them.
