Independent Lens . A DREAM IN DOUBT | PBS

I'm attending a screening of this film about post-9/11 anti-Skih violence on April 19th at the Northwest Film Forum for an article I'm working on. Click on the link about screening events to RSVP for the Seattle one... it's free and the filmmaker and one of the film's subjects will be attending.

Quoted: One of America’s first post 9/11 hate crime murders punctuated a growing wave of violence against Sikhs in retaliation for the terror attacks. Told from the perspective of the victim’s brother, A DREAM IN DOUBT travels to Mesa, Arizona to reveal a story of national tragedy, murder, community and the American dream.

Kabul Express - Movie - Hindi

Saw this movie about two Indian journalists and an American photographer in Afghanistan trying to get to the Pakistan border. There were no songs in the movie, and you can tell it was directed by a documentary filmmaker. I thought John Abraham was great (obviously)! It started out slow but got interesting, although it takes a political dig at Pakistan... Still, I appreciate what the movie was trying to do.

Quoted: ‘Kabul Express’ is an engaging thriller by documentary filmmaker Kabir Khan. The movie tells an interesting and thought-provoking tale against the backdrop of a country ravaged by war.

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Bollywood star spotlights abuse

I hope this opens in Seattle (Phelps, I'll go see it with you!) It's a really important story. I'm also impressed by some of the British cast involved - Natasha Richardson and Steve McFadden.

Quoted: Actress Aishwarya Rai attends the UK premiere of her film about a British woman jailed for killing her violent husband.

    Wes Anderson Goes to India!

This is awesome! I love Wes Anderson movies...

Quoted: Wes Anderson, the director of cult classic Rushmore and 2001 hit The Royal Tenenbaums, is headed to the subcontinent. He will direct Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman as three brothers who journey through India in The Darjeeling Limited. Production Weekly reports that filming begins in December. Meanwhile, casting director Cindy Tolan is scouring the South Asian community for a young woman to play Rita, an “attractive, intelligent and articulate” stewardess on a train in India.
