Leave it to Slate to explain the hard-hitting issues...
Quoted: No one inspires Explainer readers quite like Britney Spears. In the past year, her antics have spurred questions about involuntary commitment, restraining orders, hair-based drug tests, and the supposed dangers of parental nudity. Now the pop star's father has been named her temporary "conservator." What's that?

Okay, I admittedly really enjoyed seeing George Takei sing country music. But after that, I had no interest in watching the show because really, how could anything top that? Also, one of the show's judges claimed to be on Gilmore Girls... But if I can't remember him being on that show, he was definitely NOT a central character.
Quoted: CBS' 'Secret Talents of the Stars' is gone after only 1 episode. The first airing Wednesday had former "Star Trek" actor George Takei singing "On the Road Again." Only 4.6 million people tuned in — and thousands tuned away as the hour continued.

I love Margaret Cho - I'm sort of curious to check this out.
Quoted: Margaret Cho bares all in obscenity-laced burlesque show. Her new off-Broadway show, "The Sensuous Woman," has less standup comedy and much more burlesque — a significant departure for the Korean-American comic who has built up a cult following thanks to her 2001 "Notorious C.H.O." tour and TV specials.

I remember learning about Marcel Marceau in French class. Apparently Michael Jackson actually borrowed the moonwalk from a Marceau sketch!

I never thought about this, but you can totally tell when a place uses really fresh ingredients to make bloody marys and mojitos. Still, I don't think I'd call them overrated - when they're good, they're REALLY good.
Quoted: Drinking great cocktails is like eating great food. A good bartender, like a good chef, will try to come up with something new, or put a new twist on classics. Never settle for the fast-food version, unless the bar happens to a have a drive-thru window.

I agree with Rosie. I feel like she's not quite the right replacement for Bob Barker.

I'm bummed to hear about this. Travolta said: "I still think that if you analyze most of the school shootings, it is not gun control. It is (psychotropic) drugs at the bottom of it." You know, maybe if there wasn't such a stigma around psychiatric treatment, the Virginia Tech shooter wouldn't have been afraid to get help.
Quoted: John Travolta says his thinking is in line with fellow Scientologist Tom Cruise, who has publicly defended the religion's stance against psychiatry and pharmaceuticals.
