One of the Girls: BBF in the City | Views | TheRoot.com

Good point. I think this happens with Latino actresses as well - they end up playing the sassy best friend who 'tells it like it is.'

Quoted: As the black best friend in Sex and the City: The Movie, Jennifer Hudson plays a tired role.

'Sex and the City,' at 40 and even maybe (gasp) 50 - MSN Movies News

Please, all these women look fabulous - this is not a real problem. Plus, a.) the idea of women in their 40s having sexuality is not so absurd, and b.) this show is clearly a fantasy world (an awesome one, haha). Can't wait for the movie!

Quoted: How does 'Sex and the City' film avoid the age problem? By embracing it.

Baby Mama (2008) - Overview - MSN Movies

I love Tina Fey (and Amy Poehler, for that matter). Looking forward to checking this movie out, and I'm especially curious how the gender politics play out!

Quoted: Former Saturday Night Live "Weekend Update" co-anchors Tina Fey and Amy Poehler co-star in this baby-fever comedy about a single, career-oriented woman who previously put parenthood on hold, and is forced to hire a surrogate mother when she discovers there is only a one-in-a-million chance that she will be able to get pregnant.

Marjane Satrapi's brilliant Persepolis. - Slate Magazine

I seriously cannot wait to see this movie - the books are probably my favorite works of fiction. I'm so happy to see that it's getting great reviews. I really think her work could completely change the way we envision the Middle East.

Quoted: Directed by the comic-book artists Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud from a four-book series of autobiographical novels by Satrapi, the movie has a signature look. Except for a framing story in color, all the images are in black, white, and countless shades of gray.

    Anne Hathaway: 'I know I'm not a good celebrity' - CNN.com

I like Anne Hathaway. I mean, with a name like that, she should do a great job playing Jane Austen! Looking forward to the movie...

Quoted: She has acted opposite stars like Meryl Streep and in hit movies including "Brokeback Mountain." But for Anne Hathaway, the pressure of playing British writer Jane Austen in "Becoming Jane" was so great, she almost quit.

I hope this opens in Seattle (Phelps, I'll go see it with you!) It's a really important story. I'm also impressed by some of the British cast involved - Natasha Richardson and Steve McFadden.

Quoted: Actress Aishwarya Rai attends the UK premiere of her film about a British woman jailed for killing her violent husband.

Just Another Face in the Crowd, Indistinguishable Even if It’s Your Own - New York Times

Wow, I'd never heard of this disorder before... apparently people with it can't even remember their own faces well enough to pick them out in a group photograph!

Quoted: People with prosopagnosia, or face blindness, must develop alternate strategies for identifying people.
