Even though cockroaches can withstand 10 times more radiation than humans, they're still not the most resilient organisms (or even insects, for that matter). Mythbusters proved that the flour beetle is more likely to survive atomic war!
Quoted: Pixar's Wall-E depicts a future Earth abandoned by humans, blanketed in garbage, and nearly devoid of life. At the outset, Wall-E, a robot, has but one companion: a friendly cockroach.

Looking forward to checking out the latest Woody Allen movie. The cast is great - I love Javier Bardem!
Quoted: Bathed in light so lusciously golden that you might be tempted to lick the screen, “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” is a rueful comedy about two young American women who, during a summertime European idyll, savor many of the Continental delicacies that travelers often take pleasure in: art, music, culture, but also strange bodies and unexpected dreams.

I know it's not exactly feminist, but I LOVE Lifetime Original movies. They're so bad that they're good! I hope I get some time to watch these this summer...
Quoted: The joke about the original movies on Lifetime, the grande dame of gynocentric cable channels, is that they all present women as victims—weepies about cancer and kidnapping or melodramas about awful men.

I'm writing an article about this documentary - it looks so powerful and interesting. It's screening in Seattle starting September 5th...
Quoted: Fourteen centuries after the revelation of the holy Qur'an to the Prophet Muhammad, Islam is the world's 2nd largest and fastest growing religion. Can't wait to see this in IMAX! Christian Bale + IMAX = awesomeness, although I still think Newsies is his finest work :)
Quoted: If I hear the word superhero one more time this summer, I may superhurl. The very letters on my keyboard—S-U-P-E-R-H-E-R-O—are stained from overuse ... But for all The Dark Knight's occasionally bombastic excess, it tops them all, and not only in star power and sheer number of things blown up.

Now I'm even more curious to see this movie...
Quoted: Pixar's new animated feature Wall-E is more than a great movie. According to the critics, it's a trenchant social commentary. So what is this powerful and profound message? Wall-E tells us that if we don't change the way we live, we'll all get really fat and destroy the world.

Holy crap, Meryl Streep makes an amazing Julia Child! I can't wait to see this movie... I loved Julia Child's memoir - so inspirational. She didn't even start cooking seriously until her late 30s and she failed plenty of times. Fabulous life.
Quoted: The film also covers the years Julia Child and her husband Paul (Stanley Tucci) spent in Paris during the 1940s and ’50s, when Paul was a foreign diplomat who was eventually investigated by Sen. Joseph McCarthy.
