Yes, she was very ill for a long time. For her probably it is better - she is not suffering any more. Still it is sad.

TV might cause autism. - Slate Magazine

A controversial study out of Cornell that's back in the news thanks to Michael Savage. Still, it seems autism is likely multi-factorial and linking it to TV at an early age is just once piece of the puzzle...

Quoted: I speculated in Slate that the mounting incidence of childhood autism may be related to increased television viewing among the very young. The autism rise began around 1980, about the same time cable TV and VCRs became common and Nickelodeon, the first kids-oriented channel, launched.

'Big Bird' costume creator Kermit Love dies at 91 - MSN TV News

Sad! Apparently he also helped create the designs for Mr. Snuffleupagus, Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster (and he played Willy the hog dog vendor). He insists that Kermit the Frog wasn't named after him, but there's no proof... :)

Quoted: Designer Kermit Love dies at 91. He helped create `Big Bird' for Jim Henson, costumes for ballets and puppets for film and advertising, including Snuggle the bear from the fabric softener commercials.

Watching Michelle Obama on The View. - Slate Magazine

Wow, it's amazing how much thought Michelle Obama had to put into every detail of this appearance on The View.

Quoted: Obama had approached the appearance, to quote Barbara Walters' on-air reading of the morning's New York Times, "with an eye toward softening her reputation." To this end, she did not do her hair in the Jackie Kennedy flip that André Leon Talley—the Vogue editor who Page Six alleges to be her style guru—pegs as central to her "image strategy."

Why CBS should shutter its news division. - Slate Magazine

Not sure that I agree with this...

Quoted: To judge by the ads, the most loyal adherents to CBS' quasi-journalistic programming are impotent and incontinent. It so happens that they share these afflictions with the network's actual news division.

CBS Axes Reality Show After 1 Episode - MSN TV News

Okay, I admittedly really enjoyed seeing George Takei sing country music. But after that, I had no interest in watching the show because really, how could anything top that? Also, one of the show's judges claimed to be on Gilmore Girls... But if I can't remember him being on that show, he was definitely NOT a central character.

Quoted: CBS' 'Secret Talents of the Stars' is gone after only 1 episode. The first airing Wednesday had former "Star Trek" actor George Takei singing "On the Road Again." Only 4.6 million people tuned in — and thousands tuned away as the hour continued.
