Really interesting piece arguing in favor of sending kids to school a little younger, rather than a little older... The slight difference can make a big difference in the long run, in some cases.
Quoted: At what age should children go to kindergarten? At what age should your child go to kindergarten? What if these questions appear to have different answers?

I just don't understand why the school officials were surprised that the girls used the word "vagina" while performing a play called "The Vagina Monologues."
Quoted: The author of a well-known feminist play has agreed to speak at a school district where three girls were suspended after they used the word "vagina" while reciting the play.

You must be shiwani's friend before you can comment on this Fave.I have heard of quite a few parents who are keeping their kids out of kindergarten for an extra year because of immaturity or whatever. Of course, what is a better place to learn maturity than in a classroom with expectations and goals and peers? My little one will be going to kindergarten on time.
