I love how all variations of SimCity-type games are still so popular! FarmVille is a pretty cool app, I must say...
Quoted: FarmVille has quickly become the most popular application in the history of Facebook. More than 62 million people have signed up to play the game since it made its debut in June.

Hmm, that doesn't really sound like much of a choice...
Quoted: French textile workers were recently made an offer that most, undoubtedly, refused: relocate to India and work for local wages or lose their job.

My latest blog post...
Quoted: There were two big emergencies during my stint as a New Yorker - 9/11 and the Northeast Blackout of 2003. I learned a lot about disaster preparedness after that (for example, keeping bottles of wine around for unexpected guests isn't as important as having bottles of water stored away for unexpected events).

A really fascinating blog about the declining print media. This guy has some pretty radical (or maybe not so radical?) ideas about switching to online operations...
Quoted: Mark Potts is a consultant and entrepreneur. These are his thoughts on the media, the Internet, Web 2.0 and changes in how we create, receive and interact with news, information and advertising.

Interesting piece... I blog for the Examiner.
Quoted: The Examiner.com is not what it appears to be. It is not the online outlet for the Examiner newspapers (i.e. the San Francisco Examiner). It is instead an experiment in pure citizen journalism. Right now Examiner sites have officially launched in beta for five cities—San Francisco, Chicago, Baltimore, Denver, and Seattle.

My latest blog entry...
Quoted: It hit me like a ton of bricks today - this will be my first time voting in Washington State elections. So, it seems problematic that I know more about Gov. Corzine's record in New Jersey or Mayor Bloomberg's attempt to seek a third term in New York than I do about Gregoire and Rossi.

A case against the blog "Stuff White People Like" from The Root.
Quoted: By now you've likely been forwarded the link three, maybe four times. Everyone loves Stuff White People Like. The blog, started this past January by 29-year-old L.A. comedian and "internet copy writer" Christian Lander, cheekily promises "a scientific approach to highlight and explain stuff white people like," Barack Obama. Well, sorry, but it's a classic, lazy, con-job.

Sean was in my children's book class at the School of Visual Arts in NY - I seriously can't get over how beautiful his art is. I'm happy to see he's making it in the children's book world!
Quoted: This image is of Lauryn Hill. It also got me the contract to illustrate Powerful Words. At the time I used mostly gouache and tempera.

Redotted from Megha
Apparently the student republican group is sticking an actor in the crowd with a label saying "illegal immigrant." I fail to see how this raises awareness about anything.
Quoted: They’re not exactly descending upon Washington Square Park with horse and hound, but members of the College Republican club of New York University have certainly managed to offend some rather more proletariat sensibilities with their “Find the Illegal Immigrant” challenge, scheduled for today.
