Mmm, caffeine-infused oatmeal...
Quoted: Recently, while taking a lunch-break stroll near my office, a woman handed me a free bag of a new snack food: Engobi Cinnamon Surge Energy Go Bites. " Infused with caffeine" the bag boasted.

Quoted: Could this be the turning point for genetically modified food? This cookbook sounds neat, I'd like to check it out...
Quoted: At first glance, Beyond the Great Wall: Recipes and Travels in the Other China looks much like every other expensive cookbook. But look again: It's a Chinese cookbook that ignores what we think of as Chinese food. A preservationist manifesto, the book draws all its recipes from China's ethnic minorities—Tibetans, Mongolians, Uighurs, Hui, Dai, and more than a half-dozen other groups,

Holy crap, Meryl Streep makes an amazing Julia Child! I can't wait to see this movie... I loved Julia Child's memoir - so inspirational. She didn't even start cooking seriously until her late 30s and she failed plenty of times. Fabulous life.
Quoted: The film also covers the years Julia Child and her husband Paul (Stanley Tucci) spent in Paris during the 1940s and ’50s, when Paul was a foreign diplomat who was eventually investigated by Sen. Joseph McCarthy.

I will never understand competitive eating, but I continue to be fascinated (and slightly grossed out) by it...

I want to learn better knife skills!
Quoted: Just as no figure skater ever won a gold medal solely for executing perfect figure eights, no one will become a great chef simply on the elegance of his brunoise. Beyond the purely practical value in good knife skills, there is a certain pride of blade—more often than not, a masculine pride—that goes with elegant handling.
